On the first day of summer in 2020, many skateboarders and a dozen bicyclists staged an event known as Solidarity Push. Following a leading car, they rode their vehicles from the west side of town to the skatepark downtown Providence, Rhode Island. While standing around at the skatepark, Nickantony Quach (above, right), a local published philosopher, was told of the event only an hour before the start. It did not take him long to realize the significance of what was about to take place. He immediately rushed himself to Broadway Street and staged several of his video recorders on both sides of the street. Because he couldn’t tell when the skateboarders would pass by where he stood, he decided to switch all his devices on and hoped they would not run out of battery before their arrival. As soon as they arrived, his camera sprung into action. He took the picture of each and every skateboarder passing by. The result of his efforts is the video Solidarity Push, which is Episode 1 in Season 1 of the YouTube series Tales of Trinity. It’s the video that started the history of RiVillage, also known as Rhode Island Village. One of the greatest photos taken of the event is shown on the Next page.
